Emergent Biosolutions IncIncreased naloxone competition led to slashed 2026 guidance and impairment charge.

Emergent BioSolutions reported second-quarter revenue of $234.3 million, exceeding its guidance, but slashed its full-year 2026 outlook due to increased competition in the naloxone market. The company recorded a $191.3 million non-cash impairment charge tied to its NARCAN asset group, pushing it to a GAAP net loss of $180.2 million, while adjusted net income rose 134% to $30.9 million. Management announced restructuring actions expected to yield about $40 million in annualized savings, including roughly 90 job cuts, and revised 2026 total revenue guidance to $645 million to $675 million from a prior range of $720 million to $760 million. The company also authorized a $75 million debt repurchase program and reported $145 million in July accounts receivable collections.
