Q2 net income and operating profit declined despite higher sales.
Essity AB reported a decline in second-quarter net income to SEK 2.69 billion from SEK 3.05 billion a year earlier, even as net sales rose to SEK 35.06 billion from SEK 34.19 billion. Earnings per share fell to SEK 3.94 from SEK 4.39, while EBITA slipped to SEK 4.11 billion from SEK 4.63 billion. Operating profit decreased to SEK 3.85 billion from SEK 4.39 billion. The company attributed the sales increase to higher volumes and an improved product mix.
