According to data from LSEG, profit forecasts for leading European companies in the second quarter of 2026 have been revised upwards, with profit growth expected to reach 20.8%. Most of this increase comes from energy companies, and excluding the energy sector, profit growth for constituents of the STOXX Europe 600 Index is forecast at 10.3%. Revenue is expected to rise 11.7% year-on-year, ending four consecutive quarters of contraction. Profit growth is anticipated in eight of the index's ten sectors, with basic materials also showing solid gains, while technology and financials are seen recording modest growth in the low double digits. Real estate, consumer discretionary, and healthcare are expected to be the weakest-performing sectors this earnings season, with 46 companies including BP, Novo Nordisk, and HSBC set to report next week.
