Meta Platforms Inc.Analyst reiterates outperform and sees stock as undervalued despite earnings miss.

Evercore analyst Mark Mahaney named Meta Platforms his top large-cap long idea on July 22, citing AI-driven advertising momentum and an attractive valuation. One week later, Meta reported disappointing second-quarter earnings, causing its stock to drop about 10% in a single day, and Mahaney lowered his price target from $930 to $820 while reiterating his outperform call. Meta's revenue rose 28% year over year to $60.8 billion, and ad impressions increased 14%, but earnings per share fell 13% to $6.18, missing analyst expectations of $7.14, as costs and expenses jumped 55% to $42 billion. The company also slightly raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to between $130 billion and $145 billion, and investors remain concerned about AI model delays and the lack of a business to sell computing capacity. Despite these worries, Mahaney and other Wall Street analysts see the stock as undervalued, with a median one-year price target of $800.
