UK beverage group AG Barr has appointed former Sainsbury's finance chief Darren Shapland as its new board chair with immediate effect, replacing Susan Barratt, who returns to her previous role as senior independent director. Shapland, who also becomes an independent non-executive director, will join the remuneration and ESG committees and chair the nomination committee. AG Barr CEO Euan Sutherland welcomed Shapland's 40 years of consumer, commercial, and financial expertise, which will support the company's growth strategy. The appointment comes after AG Barr reaffirmed its full-year profit guidance in August, expecting first-half revenue of around £246m ($330.8m), up 8% year-on-year, despite supply chain disruptions.
