The Fiscal Policy Office revealed that the Thai economy in June 2026 was supported by merchandise exports expanding for the 24th consecutive month and a recovery in private consumption, especially in durable goods. Meanwhile, domestic tourism continued to expand but at a slower pace. Total merchandise export value in US dollar terms stood at 34.66 billion US dollars, an increase of 20.8 percent from the same period last year. Excluding oil and goods related to gold and military items, exports expanded by 23.1 percent. Consumption was reflected in new passenger car registrations rising 18 percent and new motorcycle registrations rising 13.6 percent, while the consumer confidence index rose for the first time in four months to 50.7. However, the Thai baht, global crude oil prices, and geopolitical conflicts that could affect production supply chains and the Thai economy still need to be monitored.
