Focuslight Technologies Inc. APlans private placement to raise up to 1.021 billion yuan for optical interconnect projects, despite widening losses.

Focuslight Technologies has disclosed plans to issue shares to specific investors, raising total proceeds of no more than 1.021 billion yuan. The funds will be used for a high-end optical interconnect core component R&D and industrialization capability building project, a high-performance substrate material industrialization project for high-speed optical communication lasers, a high-end equipment industrialization project for optical interconnect core devices, and to supplement working capital. Among these, the high-end optical interconnect core component project has a total investment of 468 million yuan, with 391 million yuan planned from the raised funds, to build an R&D and large-scale production base for applications such as high-speed optical modules, OCS, and CPO. The high-performance substrate material project for high-speed optical communication lasers has a total investment of 344 million yuan, with 303 million yuan planned from the raised funds, focusing on the development and production of pre-gold-tin aluminum nitride substrate materials. The company stated that the three projects will jointly build an advanced manufacturing platform for high-speed optical communication covering materials, devices, manufacturing processes, and high-end equipment, promoting the company's upgrade to a high-end optical interconnect manufacturing platform provider. The 2026 semi-annual report disclosed on the same day shows the company achieved operating revenue of 419 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 6.57 percent, while net profit attributable to the parent company was a loss of 67.2288 million yuan, with the loss widening year-on-year, mainly due to the provision for goodwill impairment of 31.0016 million yuan and inventory write-downs of 35.3796 million yuan.
