Vietnamese IT services group FPT has agreed to acquire the Polish design and development arm of Nippon Seiki Europe, establishing a new subsidiary in Gdańsk dedicated to automotive software. Under the agreement, Nippon Seiki Europe, a consolidated subsidiary of Japanese components maker Nippon Seiki, will transfer its Gdańsk software development operations, which specialize in automotive embedded software and employ 50 people, to FPT Poland. Financial details were not disclosed. FPT software executive vice president Nguyen Duc Kinh said the acquisition will strengthen FPT's engineering capabilities, including embedded and automotive software development. Nippon Seiki said the divestment aligns with its medium-term management plan and that it will continue outsourcing software development to FPT Poland after the handover. The transfer takes effect from 2 October 2026.
