Fresenius Medical Care announced the publication of a multinational real-world evidence study in the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology showing that hemodiafiltration (HDF) was associated with a 28% lower relative risk of all-cause mortality compared with conventional high-flux hemodialysis. The study, which analyzed data from nearly 20,000 patients across eight European countries, found the greatest benefit among patients receiving sustained high-volume hemodiafiltration with convection volumes above 23 liters per session, who had a 33% lower relative risk of death. The findings align with the landmark CONVINCE trial and support the company's expansion of high-volume hemodiafiltration in the United States.
