GameStop Corp.Record Q2 operating income of $160.2M, adjusted EBITDA more than doubled, and FY26 EBITDA guidance raised

GameStop reported second-quarter operating income of $160.2 million, the highest second-quarter figure in its history, with adjusted operating income of $158.7 million versus $64.7 million a year earlier. Collectibles net sales jumped 57% year over year to $356.3 million and now account for 45.1% of total net sales, up from 23.4% in 2025, while SG&A expenses fell to $187.1 million from $218.8 million. Quarterly adjusted EBITDA more than doubled to $174 million from $75.7 million, and adjusted net income rose to $161.1 million from $138.3 million. Net sales fell 18.7% to $790.2 million from $972.2 million, which the company attributed to the prior-year launch of Nintendo Switch 2, the divestiture of its France operations, and store closures. After the quarter, GameStop cut long-term debt to approximately $2.8 billion through privately negotiated exchanges completed on September 3 that retired roughly $1.4 billion of its 0.00% Convertible Senior Notes due 2030 and 2032, and management raised its full-year FY26 adjusted EBITDA forecast to more than $650 million from more than $600 million.
