Geely Farizon, WeRide and Kwoon Chung Bus Holdings have signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly develop a mass-produced robotaxi for right-hand-drive markets. The new model will be based on the existing factory-built GXR platform and will pioneer the industry's first ground-up design dedicated to right-hand-drive operating standards, going beyond a simple adaptation of the left-hand-drive Robotaxi GXR. Hong Kong will be the first city to deploy commercial right-hand-drive robotaxi services, with plans to later expand to Singapore, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia. Kwoon Chung Smart Mobility has already deployed left-hand-drive GXR units in Hong Kong and secured a pilot autonomous driving licence, with on-road trials underway. The collaboration builds on Geely Farizon and WeRide's existing partnership, which previously launched the Robotaxi GXR and achieved fully driverless commercial operations in Beijing and Guangzhou.
