Gencor Industries IncQ2 earnings missed expectations with revenue and net income declining significantly.

Gencor Industries shares fell 1% after reporting second-quarter fiscal 2026 results, underperforming the S&P 500's 1.8% gain. Net revenues declined 11.5% to $33.8 million, and net income dropped 36.9% to $3.8 million, or $0.26 per diluted share, partly due to a surge in trade show expenses to $3.5 million from $0.3 million a year earlier. Gross margin improved to 31.7% from 29.7%, and the company's backlog more than doubled to a record $60.5 million, supported by Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act funding. Gencor remained debt-free with $155.1 million in cash and marketable securities, and management expects the expanded backlog to drive performance through fiscal 2027.
