General Motors has reached tentative labor agreements with Canada's Unifor union covering more than 4,600 members across four manufacturing facilities. The deals cover workers at the Oshawa Assembly Plant, St. Catharines Propulsion Plant, Woodstock Parts Distribution Centre, and CAMI Assembly, though terms were not immediately disclosed. Unifor National President Lana Payne said the agreements deliver strong income and benefit gains amid challenging times. The agreements were unanimously endorsed by the Unifor General Motors Master Bargaining Committee and still require ratification by members in meetings scheduled for August 29 and 30. Unifor, Canada's largest private-sector union, began negotiations with General Motors last week after finalizing a three-year labor agreement with Ford Motor in July.
