Quantum Systems has raised $1.2 billion in a new funding round, more than doubling the German drone maker's valuation to about $8 billion post-money. The round was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent. The company said the proceeds will support international expansion, boost manufacturing capacity, and fund acquisitions. Based in Gilching, Bavaria, Quantum Systems is among several German defense startups capitalizing on Europe's surge in military spending. It has supplied surveillance drones to Ukraine since Russia's full-scale invasion and has since expanded its portfolio to include unmanned land and maritime systems.
