The start of the weapons counting process will be linked to the committee's entry into the area and the deployment of an international stabilization force. The agreement also covers initial reconstruction efforts in the Gaza Strip. US President Donald Trump stated on Truth Social that the Peace Committee reached a historic agreement for the complete disarmament of Hamas and all other armed groups in the Gaza Strip. Once disarmament is complete, the Israeli military will withdraw, and an international stabilization force will cooperate with a new Palestinian police force to maintain security. This development comes amid talks in Cairo involving a Hamas delegation, representatives of Palestinian factions, and mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Turkey.
