Honeywell International IncHoneywell's technology selected for major biofuel project, driving demand for its modular Ecofining and control systems.
Honeywell announced that its modular Ecofining process technology, specialized pumps, compressors, and integrated control and safety systems will help drive sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel production for Acelen Renewables' greenfield site in Bahia, Brazil. The facility is expected to be one of the largest in the world and will use macaúba oil, a sustainable feedstock native to Brazil. Honeywell's modular delivery model shortens construction time and lowers costs, allowing SAF production faster than traditional methods. The Honeywell UOP Ecofining process, developed with Eni SpA, can reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 80% when blended with conventional jet fuel. Honeywell has delivered more than 1,500 modular process units worldwide.
