Hewlett Packard Enterprise has been selected to participate in multiple research and development projects in the first phase of the U.S. Department of Energy's Genesis Mission. The projects focus on advancing AI innovation and scientific discovery across AI model application, performance optimization, networking, cybersecurity, and water availability. HPE is also delivering some of the world's most powerful machines for the mission, including the upcoming Lux system, which is expected to be the first dedicated AI system for science supporting Genesis Mission, built in collaboration with AMD and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The Genesis Mission is a historic national initiative building the world's most powerful integrated science discovery platform, uniting government, industry, academia, and philanthropy to accelerate breakthroughs in energy, scientific discovery, and national security. HPE will collaborate on projects such as an agentic fusion co-pilot, AI-driven swarm robotics network slicing, a science-aware AI operations platform, generative AI for long-term weather forecasts, AI-driven performance optimization for distributed scientific workflows, and an AI-powered cybersecurity framework.
