NVIDIA CorporationHuawei chairman says he wants Huawei's computing infrastructure to become the Chinese equivalent of Nvidia, framing Nvidia as the benchmark rival, but no concrete competitive loss or gain is reported.

Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies said in a report released on the 16th that it predicts autonomous artificial intelligence agents will account for more than 90% of global AI token consumption by 2035. According to the report, as AI agents continuously perceive their surroundings and carry out reasoning, decision-making, and calls to external tools, annual consumption of AI tokens, the units AI models process when receiving and generating information, is expected to surge over the next decade. The forecast is based on an earlier projection that 900 billion AI agents could be operating worldwide by 2035, equivalent to roughly 100 times the projected global population that year. In a message to employees published on the 15th, Guo Ping, chairman of Huawei's supervisory board, described AI as the company's biggest opportunity and said he wants its computing infrastructure to become the Chinese equivalent of US semiconductor giant Nvidia. The report also suggests that preserving the safety and controllability of independent software will require new systems in addition to a substantial increase in computing power.
