Anderon, an IBM company, has finalized a $1B award under the CHIPS Act from the US Department of Commerce, funding research and development aimed at expanding US quantum wafer manufacturing capabilities. The award follows a letter of intent announced in May between the Commerce Department and IBM. Anderon is also backed by an additional $1B investment from IBM. Based in Albany, New York, Anderon operates a 300-millimeter pure-play quantum wafer foundry designed to serve customers across the broader quantum technology industry.
