International Business MachinesIBM updates its Bob platform with multi-agent capabilities and cost analytics, enhancing its product offering.

International Business Machines Corporation announced major updates to its agentic software development platform, Bob, on July 9. The updates introduce multi-agent capabilities, built-in cost analytics through a new feature called Bobalytics, and pre-built workflows for modernizing enterprise systems. Management noted that the changes address a shift in software development challenges, with most DevSecOps professionals now viewing the review and validation of AI-written code as the primary bottleneck. Additional capabilities include parallel, model-native tool calling and subagents that isolate context for complex tasks to control cost and improve response speed.
