Iceland condemns Trump after he posts map covering the country with the US flag

Iceland has strongly condemned US President Donald Trump after he posted an image on Truth Social showing Iceland, Greenland, Canada, Mexico, and several other areas covered with the US flag. The Icelandic government summoned the US ambassador and said the image was completely unacceptable. Icelandic Foreign Minister Thorgerdur Gunnarsdóttir said it was no laughing matter and stressed that Iceland still stands with Greenland amid Trump's desire for the US to take control of the territory. Denmark and Mexico also expressed displeasure over the post, with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen calling it a sign of extreme US expansionism, and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum affirming that Mexico will never be a colony or protectorate of any foreign power.
