ICON PLCICON shares gained in premarket trading Wednesday after the clinical research services provider reported better-than-expected quarterly earnings and revenue, while reaffirming its full-year guidance. The company posted net bookings of $2.9 billion and a net book-to-bill of 1.42 for the first quarter, which CEO Barry Balfe attributed to robust gross award activity and low cancellations. ICON expects full-year revenue between $7.85 billion and $8.15 billion, compared with a consensus of $8.02 billion, and adjusted diluted earnings per share of $10.00 to $11.00, versus a consensus of $10.54. Cash and cash equivalents stood at $765.2 million as of March 31, 2026, up from $647.3 million at the end of 2025. The stock rallied 6.2% on Wednesday, though it remains down 21% year-to-date.
