Summary · why it matters

Illumina shares fell 1.9% after Swiss drugmaker Roche launched a next-generation gene sequencing machine that undercuts Illumina's pricing. Roche's new Axelios machine is priced at $750,000, compared to Illumina's NovaSeq X machines which list for between $985,000 and $1.25 million. The move challenges Illumina's estimated 70% share of the genetic-testing technology market. Analysts expect a gradual push for market share rather than rapid disruption. The shares were trading at $177.45, down 2% from the previous close.

Charles River Laboratories Launches Rapid Cell Banking Platform With 40% Faster Production

Charles River Laboratories International unveiled new rapid cell banking and release programs that use advanced sequencing and in vitro tools to shorten biologics and advanced therapy cell bank lead times for biopharma clients.
