Tata Steel LimitedIndian shares opened higher on Thursday, with the benchmark BSE Sensex jumping 550 points, or 0.7 percent, to 77,053 after tumbling more than 2 percent in the previous session. The broader NSE Nifty index edged up by 175 points, or 0.7 percent, to 24,058. The gains came after U.S. President Donald Trump said additional strikes on Iran would not last long, easing fears of a full-scale war. Bharti Airtel, Sun Pharma and Eternal surged around 3 percent, while Larsen & Toubro, HDFC Bank, Adani Ports, UltraTech Cement, ICICI Bank, Reliance Industries and Asian Paints rose about 1 percent each. Tata Steel fell about 1 percent after releasing its first-quarter crude steel production figures, and Tata Consultancy Services dropped 1.2 percent ahead of its quarterly earnings results.
