Intel CorporationIntel beat Q2 earnings estimates and analyst sees margin expansion and earnings growth.
CFRA Research analyst Angelo Zino said Intel's PC business will be dictated by momentum in the AI data center segment, following the company's second-quarter earnings beat. Intel reported adjusted earnings of $0.42 per share versus estimates of $0.21 and revenue of $16.1 billion versus estimates of $14.43 billion, sending shares up over 11% in extended trading. Zino noted that the PC market is expected to be negatively impacted in the second half of the year and will remain challenging, but he sees favorable trends from agentic AI offerings driving more compute usage toward inferencing that relies on CPU use, benefiting Intel over the next three to five years. He also highlighted Intel's margin expansion potential, comparing it to Taiwan Semi's gross margins in the mid-60s and AMD's margins in the mid-to-high 50s, and said Intel's earnings could exceed $5 per share in two to three years, supporting his buy recommendation.
