Intel CorporationIntel wins Apple as a customer for 18A process, boosting foundry business.
Intel will design and manufacture chips for Apple using its advanced 18A process, a development that sent Intel shares up 15.83% over two sessions. The collaboration is expected to involve Apple's M7 SoC for MacBook Air and entry-level iPad Pro, with mass production targeted for late 2027, though TSMC will retain more than 90% of Apple's overall supply. Intel reported first-quarter revenue of $13.6 billion, up 7% year-over-year, and earnings per share of $0.29, more than double the prior year. Despite the rally, Intel trades at a forward price-to-earnings multiple of 122.66 times, and analysts maintain a consensus Hold rating with a mean target price of $93.92 that has already been exceeded.
