Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, has rejected President Donald Trump's claim that the United States is negotiating through a secret channel with the IRGC to end the Iran war, calling it a lie. IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi told Tasnim news agency that no talks have taken place between IRGC officials and the American side, and that diplomatic matters are handled by other branches of the Iranian government, outside the IRGC's remit. He also said Trump's imagination will not help him on the battlefield, and that it is an attempt to influence energy prices on world markets. Earlier, President Trump told Fox News that the United States had made contact through a secret channel with IRGC officials, as the 60-day window under the memorandum of understanding expires today, and Axios reported that Nechirvan Barzani, president of the Kurdistan Regional Government, has been chosen as an intermediary in that secret channel.
