Iranian Foreign Minister Reports Significant Progress in Hormuz Transit Route Talks

Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi held a telephone conversation on the 8th, during which Araghchi explained the discussions with Oman regarding the establishment of a temporary transit route through the Strait of Hormuz, noting that "significant progress" had been made. Araghchi also blamed the current regional tensions on the United States' violation of the memorandum in Islamabad, stating that the US return to fulfilling its commitments under the memorandum would "pave the way for a return to normalcy."
