Iranian leader declares no surrender to US economic pressure

Pezeshkian also condemned the US maritime blockade and economic war against Iran, saying the US government does not want Iran to be an independent country, but Iran will not bow to such pressure. Iran has been under a maritime blockade imposed by the United States for many months, while its economy faces unprecedented mounting pressure. Last month, US President Donald Trump announced that the United States would take the harshest economic measures ever applied to any country that provides assistance to Iran, saying the measures would amount to an economic war and an unprecedented level of isolation for Iran.
