iSOFT Infrastructure Software Co., Ltd. has contributed its self-developed intelligent-driving operating system as the global code base for AUTOSAR's Common Adaptive Platform Implementation, or CAPI. The announcement was made at the 17th AUTOSAR Open Conference in Shanghai, marking what the company calls a paradigm shift from 'Standard-First' to 'Code-First' for the era of intelligent connectivity. iSOFT General Manager Liu Hongqian said the move makes iSOFT the first to open-source such a system and the first Chinese company to provide an international code-standard base, enabling global firms to develop on a single code base and significantly cut adaptation costs. AUTOSAR spokesperson Joachim Langenwalter noted that China's 30-million-vehicle annual market and 'China speed' allowed specifications and code to evolve together, while Infineon's Patrick Will highlighted the accelerating open-source trend and integration with Infineon's DRIVECORE platform. XPENG Motors Technical Center GM Yu Peng said CAPI reduces redundant costs, improves supply-chain security, and speeds ecosystem collaboration by providing a common foundation for chip vendors, software makers, and automakers. iSOFT's operating system has been installed in over 25 million units across more than 300 vehicle models.
