Zhejiang Jinggong Science TechnologyJinggong Technology's 5,000-tonne PAN-based precursor equipment passed appraisal, marking a breakthrough in key equipment and core processes.

The 5,000-tonne high-performance PAN-based precursor complete equipment jointly developed by Jinggong Technology has passed scientific and technological achievement appraisal, with the overall technology at an internationally advanced level. The project was completed by Zhejiang Jinggong Integration Technology, Zhejiang Huachuang Carbon Fiber, Donghua University, and Zhejiang Sci-Tech University, and was announced on 10 August 2026. The appraisal noted that the unit consumption of DMSO recovery steam and the temperature uniformity inside the polymerisation reactor reached internationally leading levels. The 60-cubic-metre polymerisation reactor achieved a temperature uniformity of plus or minus 0.4 degrees Celsius, a process speed of 500 metres per minute, an annual precursor production capacity of 5,000 tonnes, and a DMSO recovery rate of no less than 99.5 percent. The company stated that this marks a major breakthrough in key equipment and core processes for the large-scale preparation of high-performance PAN-based precursors in China, and will promote the domestic substitution of core technologies for high-end precursor preparation.
