JSCCIB says government unlocks 11 legal reforms to cut business costs and push Thailand as a transport hub

The Joint Standing Committee on Commerce, Industry and Banking, or JSCCIB, has praised the government for accelerating legal and regulatory reforms that hinder business operations. Out of 58 proposals, 11 are ready for immediate implementation or are already underway. These include amending transit and transshipment laws to align with customs law standards, switching from a permit system to a notification system for low-risk activities under risk-based regulation, and raising the height limit for 40-foot high cube container trucks from 4.2 metres to 4.6 metres to meet international standards. The JSCCIB says these changes will reduce costs, enhance trade facilitation, and elevate Thailand into a regional logistics hub, with Deputy Prime Minister Pakorn Nilprapunt as the key driver.
