June current account deficit of 92.3 billion yen, defying market expectations for a surplus

According to preliminary balance of payments data released by the Ministry of Finance on the 10th, the current account in June recorded a deficit of 92.3 billion yen. The median forecast in a Reuters poll of private research institutions had been for a surplus of around 1.512 trillion yen. The trade and services balance was a deficit of 363.7 billion yen, primary income recorded a surplus of 380.1 billion yen, and secondary income was a deficit of 108.6 billion yen.
