The company reported after the close the previous day that first-quarter revenue for the fiscal year ending March 2027 rose 32.8% year-on-year to 346.6 billion yen, operating profit climbed 44.7% to 187.1 billion yen, and net profit increased 51.0% to 139.1 billion yen, with the operating margin reaching 54%. Keyence does not disclose full-year guidance, making quarterly results a key focus for investors, and the acceleration in profit growth was strongly rewarded by the market. Over the past month, the stock had fallen from 81,630 yen in early July to 70,880 yen on 17 July, but it rebounded after the earnings release, with trading volume swelling to several times the usual level.
