Komatsu reported higher Q1 revenue and profit and raised its full-year forecast.
Komatsu announced on July 29 that it has revised upward its full-year consolidated earnings forecast alongside the release of its first-quarter results for fiscal 2027, covering April through June 2026. Revenue came to 1.043143 trillion yen, up 14.7 percent year on year, operating profit was 151.553 billion yen, up 8.0 percent, and quarterly net profit was 96.153 billion yen, up 5.4 percent, as a weaker yen and improved selling prices supported higher revenue and profit. In the construction, mining and utility equipment business, the Americas and Africa grew strongly, while the Middle East fell 54.6 percent and Japan declined 12.0 percent, but the strength of geographic diversification lifted overall results. Even after the upward revision, full-year net profit is still expected to fall below the previous year's actual result.
