The KOSPI may hand back Monday's gains on Tuesday amid a weak global forecast driven by Middle East tensions and rising oil prices. The index added 40.89 points or 0.65 percent to finish at 6,299.66 on Monday, snapping a two-day slide, with volume of 629.9 million shares worth 29.09 trillion won. However, U.S. markets ended slightly lower as traders await key inflation data and monitor the Strait of Hormuz situation, where fading hopes for an early reopening sent West Texas Intermediate crude up $4.07 to $82.25 per barrel.
