Krungthai Bank is preparing to launch PromptFund, a real-time mutual fund trading innovation available 24 hours a day on the Krungthai NEXT app, allowing investors to buy funds and receive units immediately, or sell funds and receive money in their account instantly. Rawin Boonyanusasna, head of money market and capital market business at Krungthai Bank, said the service uses blockchain technology and digital financial infrastructure to link payments and unit delivery in real time, reducing the limitations of the previous settlement period of one to five business days. PromptFund will initially be available for the Krungthai Government Money Market Fund, or KTSV-KTB, managed by Krungthai Asset Management, or KTAM. The fund has a risk level of one and invests mainly in government debt instruments, making it suitable for investors who want to manage short-term liquidity or park money while waiting to invest. Investors can choose between two transaction types: a standard type in which they buy or sell units with the asset management company according to the fund's processes and settlement cycles at the net asset value price, and a real-time type in which they buy or sell units directly with Krungthai Bank and receive units or money in their account immediately through Krungthai NEXT and participating branches at the bank's bid or offer price.
