La-Z-Boy shares jumped 15.5% Wednesday morning after the furniture maker reported fiscal fourth-quarter 2026 earnings that handily beat analyst expectations. The company posted adjusted earnings of $1.26 per share on revenue of $570.3 million, surpassing the consensus estimate of $0.82 per share on $569.2 million in sales. Operating profit surged 40% year over year, driven by a two-percentage-point improvement in operating margin, while GAAP profit more than doubled to $0.81 per share. For the full fiscal year, sales edged up 1% to $2.1 billion, though operating profit declined and GAAP earnings per diluted share rose only 5% to $2.35. Looking ahead, management guided for first-quarter fiscal 2027 sales between $490 million and $510 million, representing about 4% growth, but warned that adjusted operating margin could fall to 4% to 5.5%, well below the 9.9% achieved in the fourth quarter.
