Lakeland Industries, Inc., through its Lakeland Fire + Safety division, has been awarded a contract to supply Airfield Rescue and Fire Fighting protective equipment to Airports of Thailand Public Company Limited, the operator of Thailand's six principal international airports. The award covers Lakeland's Battalion proximity turnout gear and certified firefighting helmets, following a multi-stage technical evaluation and certification review. Airports of Thailand, which operates Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Phuket, Chiang Mai, Hat Yai, and Mae Fah Luang–Chiang Rai airports, serviced approximately 126 million passengers in fiscal year 2025. The equipment is certified to NFPA 1970:2025 and is part of AOT's modernization of its ARFF operations. Lakeland's CEO Jim Jenkins highlighted the demanding nature of airfield rescue and firefighting, while Senior Regional Sales Manager Akharin Puwongthanarat emphasized the company's long-standing partnership with AOT. This award expands Lakeland's presence in the Asia-Pacific first responder market.
