Lightpath has secured a second infrastructure tenant on its previously announced 100% underground multi-conduit system fiber build in Eastern Pennsylvania, anchoring the expansion with a leading multinational data center developer and operator. The new tenant leverages more than 60% of Lightpath's combined Eastern Pennsylvania in-process build, underscoring accelerating fiber infrastructure demand in the region. CEO Chris Morley said power availability is reshaping where and how AI infrastructure gets built, resulting in dense clusters of demand, and that securing a second tenant validates the company's thesis of planning long-term capacity for the region. Chief Commercial Officer Tim Haverkate noted that because the build was already underway, the company was able to incorporate additional infrastructure within the existing construction schedule, giving the customer a significant head start. Lightpath is positioned to meet further dense-capacity requirements in Eastern Pennsylvania and to support tenants with high-bandwidth connectivity to other markets including New York, Ashburn, Columbus, and Chicago once its recently announced Columbus–Chicago long-haul corridor is ready for service.

Coherent Launches Pluggable Optical Line System After 34% Revenue Growth
Coherent Corp. announced on September 17 an upgraded Pluggable Optical Line System that covers the full C-band and fits in a compact QSFP module, the same slot ordinary transceivers use. The system can pack 32 wavelengths onto a single pair of fibers, which Coherent says adds up to as much as 25.6Tbps of traffic on links running 2km to 200km, and it is designed for the latest 800G coherent optics. Coherent says the system is generally available and already shipping in high volume, in 400G and 800G versions that work with existing network setups, according to Madhu Krishnaswamy, who runs the company's telecom transport unit. The launch follows Coherent's fiscal fourth quarter, which ended June 30, when it reported revenue of $2.05 billion, up 34% from a year earlier, and non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.74, up from $1.00. Management guided to revenue of $2.2 billion to $2.4 billion for the first quarter of fiscal 2027, though the announcement puts no sales figure on the new product, so its contribution to a company that booked $2.05 billion in a quarter cannot be sized from what has been published.
Fortinet Fair Value Raised to US$163.13 as Analysts Lift Price Targets
Fortinet's modeled fair value has been reset from US$119.92 to US$163.13, according to Simply Wall St, as analysts lifted their price targets on strong demand. Several firms, including TD Cowen, BTIG, RBC Capital, Barclays, UBS, and Citi, raised their Fortinet price targets into a US$170 to US$215 range, citing strong Q2 results, billings and product trends, and AI-related demand for networking and security. Morgan Stanley upgraded Fortinet to Equal Weight from Underweight with a higher US$133 target, saying hardware demand tied to AI preparedness had been underestimated. On the bearish side, Wedbush and Wells Fargo flagged valuation as a key watchpoint, with Wedbush arguing the stock already reflects a best-case scenario, while HSBC and JPMorgan stayed cautious with Reduce and Underweight ratings respectively, HSBC carrying a US$102 target. The fair-value model's revenue growth assumption rose from 11.69% to 13.25%, its net profit margin from 27.17% to 29.57%, its future P/E from 36.45x to 45.46x, and its discount rate from 8.54% to 8.58%.
Fastly Lands Comcast Partnership Embedding Edge Software in 200 AI Data Centers
Fastly has secured a content and application delivery partnership with Comcast that will embed Fastly's edge software into more than 200 AI powered data processing centers across Comcast's nationwide network. The deal adds to a sharp run in Fastly's shares, which have posted a 90 day share price return of 33.3%, a year to date share price return of 134.15%, a 1 year total shareholder return of 176.48% and a 3 year total shareholder return of 28.97%. Fastly's most followed valuation narrative pegs fair value at $27.00, above the last close of $23.86, framing the Comcast AI deal against expectations for higher margin security and compute workloads. On a price to sales basis the stock trades at 5.5x sales, above the 4x fair ratio cited by the model but well below peers at 11.9x and the broader US IT sector at 1.8x. Risks to the upside case include Fastly's reliance on a concentrated group of large customers and pressure from hyperscalers bundling competing edge and security services.
