Bank of Lithuania raises countercyclical capital buffer rate to 1.25%, requiring Urbo Bankas to hold more capital.
Urbo bankas announced that the Bank of Lithuania board decided on July 21, 2026, to increase the countercyclical capital buffer rate to 1.25 percent effective August 1, 2027. The rate remains unchanged at 1.0 percent until that date. The requirement applies to all Lithuanian credit institutions, including locally licensed banks, central credit union groups on a consolidated basis, and branches of foreign banks.
