Lucid Group IncLucid is expanding its robotaxi service with Uber and Nuro, which could drive demand for its Gravity vehicles.
Lucid shares jumped 7.5% after the company, along with partners Uber and Nuro, announced plans to launch a robotaxi service in Houston in mid-2027. This marks the program's second market, following a planned launch in the San Francisco Bay Area later this year. The service will feature a fleet of Lucid Gravity vehicles equipped with Nuro's autonomous driving technology, accessible exclusively through the Uber app. Uber already secured a 50,000-square-foot depot and charging facility in Houston, and autonomous on-road testing with safety operators is already underway in the city. Lucid is down 51.6% since the beginning of the year, and at $5.40 per share, it is trading 82.8% below its 52-week high of $31.30 from July 2025.
