Lunar Outpost announced a collaboration with NVIDIA to deploy edge AI across its upcoming lunar missions. The company will use the NVIDIA Jetson platform and CUDA-X libraries for onboard data processing, lunar mapping, advanced autonomy, and communications. The first mission to use the technology is Lunar Voyage 2, planned to launch later this year to explore Reiner Gamma, where NVIDIA Jetson modules will control the rover's LiDAR system and handle sensor data post-processing and file compression. Future missions, including Lunar Voyage 3 and Lunar Voyage 5, will leverage the space-qualified NVIDIA Space-1 Vera Rubin Module for real-time terrain mapping, autonomous path planning, and video streaming from the Moon to Earth. Lunar Outpost is also a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program and has ten fully contracted lunar and cislunar missions launching before 2030.
