Macy's reported second-quarter fiscal 2026 results that beat the Zacks Consensus Estimate on both earnings and revenue, yet its shares fell 4.7% as investors focused on a projected third-quarter loss and moderating comparable sales. Adjusted earnings excluding the net tariff-refund benefit were 40 cents per share, topping the 37-cent estimate and up from 35 cents a year earlier, while net sales of $4,866 million beat the $4,820 million estimate and rose 1.1% year over year. Comparable sales rose 2.7% on an owned-plus-licensed-plus-marketplace basis, the fifth consecutive quarter of growth, with Bloomingdale's comps up 11.3% and Bluemercury up 6.2%. The company raised its fiscal 2026 outlook to net sales of $21.675-$21.825 billion from $21.5-$21.75 billion, comparable sales growth of 1-1.5% from 0.5-1.2%, and adjusted earnings of $2.15-$2.35 per share from $2-$2.20. For the third quarter, Macy's expects net sales of $4.65-$4.70 billion and an adjusted loss per share of 19 to 23 cents.
