Maiwei Biotech disclosed its 2026 semi-annual report on the evening of August 30. First-half revenue was 313 million yuan, a sharp year-on-year increase of 209.04 percent, but net profit attributable to the parent remained at minus 522 million yuan, narrowing from a loss of 551 million yuan in the same period last year. Revenue growth came mainly from drug sales of 212 million yuan and technical service income of 99.8557 million yuan, including domestic drug sales of Junmaikang of 75.373 million yuan, as well as revenue recognized from the company's licensing agreements with Kalexo and DISC. The company's research and development investment reached as high as 431 million yuan, up 10.03 percent year on year, and persistently high R&D spending dragged on profitability. As of the report's disclosure date, the company had 15 key products in clinical research or on the market, and the Phase III clinical trial of its core pipeline asset 9MW2821 had completed enrollment, with an interim analysis planned for the second half of 2026. The company cautioned that it may have accumulated uncovered losses in the coming years and may be unable to pay cash dividends.
