Marvell Technology Group LtdExpanded Google AI chip deal boosts demand for Marvell's custom silicon.
Marvell Technology has expanded its partnership with Google on custom artificial intelligence chips, a move Wedbush analyst Matt Bryson views as evidence that demand for specialized silicon is broadening. The agreement, first announced in July, covers multiple custom semiconductor programs tied to Google's TPU ecosystem, including AI inference accelerators, storage and networking controllers, memory interfaces, and computing technologies placed near memory. Google also holds a warrant issued on August 18 to purchase up to 58.97 million Marvell shares at $206.58 each. Wedbush notes that Google is separately exploring potential custom-chip work with Advanced Micro Devices, which could be a meaningful opportunity. The expanded relationship is expected to strengthen Marvell's position in custom AI silicon and improve visibility into future semiconductor programs.
