Marvell Technology Group LtdCommunications revenue up 29% YoY, interconnect business expected to grow >70% in FY2027, and optics/DCI revenue run-rate targets indicate strong AI networking demand.

Marvell Technology's communications and other business segment is recovering as customer inventories normalize, with first-quarter fiscal 2027 revenues rising 29 percent year over year to 585 million dollars. The company expects its interconnect business to grow more than 70 percent year over year in fiscal 2027, supported by scale-out PAM ramp-ups and growing contributions from scale-up and scale-across networking. Within optics, TIAs and drivers are projected to exceed a 1 billion dollar annualized run rate in the next few quarters, and management sees a path to about 1 billion dollars in annualized DCI module revenues during fiscal 2028. Marvell also launched the Golden Cable initiative to accelerate the Active Electrical Cable ecosystem for AI infrastructure, though its shift toward lower-margin custom silicon is causing a gradual decline in gross margin. The communications end market is expected to decline mid-single digits sequentially in the second quarter while growing high-single digits year over year, indicating a continuing but non-linear recovery.
