Mastercard Incorporated launched Mastercard Wallet Pay, a unified solution designed to connect regional digital wallets to its global payment network. Providers such as Alipay+, CRED and Mercado Pago can use Mastercard's capabilities for contactless NFC, QR payments, online checkout, and virtual card issuance, broadening where their wallets can be used. The platform provides seamless global compatibility across 200-plus countries and 150 currencies, and also supports cross-border money transfers and stored-value accounts. Mastercard is targeting a digital wallet market that currently serves more than 4.3 billion users worldwide, a figure expected to exceed 6 billion by 2030, with Alipay+ alone connecting more than 50 e-wallets and over 10 national payment schemes. The company's shares have lost 0.5% year to date compared with the industry's decline of 10.8%, and MA trades at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 25.84 versus the industry average of 17.72.
