Meta Platforms Inc.Meta announces commercial pricing for its Business Agent, establishing a revenue model with a cost advantage.
Meta Business Agent will transition from free testing to a commercial model priced at $2.00 per million tokens on August 1, 2026. This per-token pricing bundles AI processing and message delivery into a single blended rate, creating a 40-50x price advantage over Salesforce Agentforce's flat $2.00 per conversation. With a typical interaction consuming 20,000 to 25,000 tokens, a 10-turn conversation on Meta's infrastructure costs roughly $0.40 to $0.50. On October 1, 2026, Meta will also resume per-message charges for service messages within the 24-hour window, ending free human replies and introducing a dual-billing structure that enterprises must navigate. Gartner projects that more than 40% of enterprise agentic AI projects will be abandoned by the end of 2027, often due to a mismatch between AI output costs and generated value.
