Meta Platforms Inc.Meta launches its first AI coding agent, Muse Code, a new product development.

Meta has launched Muse Code, the company's first AI agent for programming, with key strengths in low cost and integration with the Muse Spark 1.2 model to compete with OpenAI's Codex and Anthropic's Claude. Alexander Wang, Meta's Chief AI Officer, said Muse Code is easy to install with a single command and helps developers handle the full software engineering lifecycle, from planning, coding, and reviewing to managing complex tasks through multiple AI agents. Pay-as-you-go pricing is 1.25 dollars per 1 million tokens for input and 4.25 dollars per 1 million tokens for output, with a Contributor Tier package that is more than 10 times cheaper than the standard system for developers who consent to Meta using their data to improve the model. Meta is also accepting requests for Zero Data Retention to meet the needs of enterprise customers concerned about data security.
